The Sil Foo Student Association was formed in 2006 as the non-profit entity of our club with a mission defined as a local Kung Fu student association whose purpose is to encourage, promote, and maintain excellence in martial arts training and culture. Sil Foo Student Association is committed to advancing our members through education, performance, and competition to the benefit of both the individual and the organization.

Membership encompasses all students enrolled at International Taiji Meihua Mantis Federation Canadian Branch, any instructors and investors.

The responsibilities of membership are reflective of the defined expectations of students of the Kung Fu school/club and can be summarized as; Representation of the Kung Fu Training Center, its teachings and core values by responsible and respectful behavior at any Martial Arts events, and any Community and School settings. There are times when students are required to volunteer their time in the community performing in demonstrations or helping with other efforts (ie; food drives).

The benefits of membership, additional to the valuable teaching and training opportunities in martial arts can be listed as; tournament funding, seminars/special training events, social functions, training gear/equipment and uniforms.

In early 2021, with growth and shift in the organization, the framework of the Kung Fu school moved to a fully non-profit model with the Sil Foo Student Association entity absorbing all the functional operations associated with the delivery of the Kung Fu training programs. The initial purpose, membership expectations and benefits of the Student Association remain with an expanded and refocused mission, vision and purpose (MVP) statement.
